IGNOU Regional Centre, Raipur was established in January 2003 carving out from IGNOU Regional Centre Bhopal to provide effective student support services to the rural and remote learners residing in the state of Chhattisgarh. Initially, it started with 11 Learner Support Centres,   however, at present the number of Learner Support Centres reached to 39. The jurisdiction of IGNOU Regional Centre Raipur is entire state of Chhattisgarh.  The Regional Centre is headed by the Regional Director who in turn is supported by Academic, Administrative and supporting staff. IGNOU Regional Centre Raipur coordinates various learner support activities by providing academic and administrative link between the learners, the study centres and the University Headquarters.
